Snowy Mountains Climbing School are leaders in providing Winter training in a range of Snow Craft Adventures & Activities.
These programs are designed around practical and educational based skills and knowledge - delivered by leaders with years of experience guiding and instructing within Australia and the big mountains abroad.
Back Country Snow Craft - 2 Day
This program is a must for all individuals heading back country or for any one who works' in the winter alpine environment.
B.C.S.C. will see you spending two (2) days and one (1) night out in the snow, developing skills in;
- Preparation & Planning for winter conditions
- Snow travel & Shelters
- Weather and Navigation &
- Overnight well bring skills.
Ice Climbing - 3 Day
Providing a comprehensive induction into the art of Ice Climbing, this program is an excellent way to complete skills development and training for your trekking adventures abroad or diversify your skills and improve technique.
With 3 days spent on location around one of Australia's premier ice climbing sites - Blue Lake. You will be provided with the best ice conditions possible under the direction of our experienced instructors.
This program covers;

- Roping Techniques
- Climbing Techniques
- Arrest Techniques
Mountaineering Skills- 4 Day
Carrying on from our Back Country Snow Craft program, our introduction to mountaineering program is the perfect stepping stone for all novice climbers with the ambition to develop their skills to tackle the big mountains around the world.
Spending 4 days in the winter alpine environment learning the finer skills of glacial travel and survival to prepare yourself for the epic mountaineering adventures you've only ever read about.
